The meeting of microbiota experts

The microbiota is the collection of commensal microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi) that colonize the skin and all mucosa. The microbiota influences many facets of our health. It is involved in the development and homeostasis of many of the tissues it colonizes, such as the intestine, and also affects distant tissue such as the central nervous system. Through its action on the immune system, it also directly or indirectly regulates susceptibility to infection. The microbiota thus plays a central role in health and disease that has yet to be fully explored.

This symposium brings together experts in the field to present their latest work on the diversity of the microbiota, its regulation by diet and its pathophysiological implications. The symposium will also be an opportunity to present developments in the national TAAM infrastructure, which offers a complete service for axenic and gnotobiotic animal models.

Registration free but required.

Some short talks by young researchers will be possible following a selection on abstract.
